No matter who you are, what age you are at, where you live, we all have accumulated things in our lives. Whether it's electronics, whether it's a car, whether it’s assets, doesn’t matter because there is a market for it. With today's technology and new marketplaces opening up every day via your smartphone, you can rent out every aspect of your life and make a crazy amount of money doing it. Renting out your possessions is not only a great way to make some extra income, but most of these services out there streamline the entire process so there is a little work to do to maintain these income sources. Mostly passive income sources are the best income sources.

Renting out your home

It could be an apartment, it could be a house, it could be a room in a house, it could be a bed in a room in a house, you can rent it out on AirBnb. This is definitely the most popular service that pretty much everyone knows about so I wanted to get this one out of the way first. Ever since Airbnb opened up in 2009, regular people have been renting out their extra space or their primary residence to vacationers looking for a place to stay. People have been making great money doing it for years and have turn this side hustle into there full time job. All right now that we got the most obvious one out of the way let's move on.

Renting out your space for storage

A lot of people have extra space that just sits there. A lot of people have attic space not being used. Areas in the backyard that could be used for storage. Some garage space, a shed that is only 10% full. These extra spaces are a great source for extra income. There is a huge market for people looking to store their extra belongings and pay a premium to do it. You can rent your extra storage space on Neighbor for free. It’s free to list your space and people in your area will be able to find your listing through Neighbor’s popular platform. The best part about this is that there is very little maintenance to deal for the most part it is purely passive income. Also you get to help a neighbor out which always feels good.

Rent out your pool

If you have a pool it is more likely than not to be underutilized over the years. I know the pool in my parents home gets used about 10 days in the year. That’s 355 days of unused pool days in which you can rent out! There was a couple that made $20,000 in three months renting out their pool to families and vacationers looking for a fantastic private pool day. This success can be yours. With services like Swimply you can rent out your pool for a premium! So if you have a pool just sitting around minding it own business, definitely consider listing it for rent.

Rent out your grass

Yes you read that right you can rent out your grass and there is a huge market for it. With the App Sniffspot you can rent out your backyard or any enclosed grassy area to pet owners that are looking to give there dog a free off leash experience. A lot of dog owners do not have a backyard or a safe place for their dog to run around so they are in desperate search for a cheap alternative. Dog parks are a free alternative but there are a lot of downsides when taking your dog to a dog park with the most important one being the dog safety. So having a private safe space is perfect for a lot of dog owners. Some lawn owners make $2,400 renting out their lawn. Yes it’s crazy, crazy smart!

Rent your house or space for events and photoshoots

Just like how you can you rent out your space to vacationers, you can also rent out your space to photographers filmmakers, people looking to host events, anyone. The pricing is also very much in your favor. People make 10x what they would make on Airbnb. With websites like Peerspace, you can list your space for free and make a crazy amount of money doing it. Due the commercial nature of the photoshoot or event these companies and individuals pay a premium. So it’s the same asset as Airbnb but you can list that same asset on multiple different marketplaces and platforms. So, list your space and rent it for photography, filming or other events like weddings, parties, meetings, and more. Do not miss out on that opportunity. Also it might be cool to see your apartment or your home or your backyard in a magazine or on TV.

Rent your parking space

If you live in the right area a parking space is a fantastic asset. A lot of people do not think about parking as a money maker but it really is. There is a lot of Applications out there that let you run out your parking space but the best one that I found, is SpotHero. This side hustle is as simple and passive as it gets. You literally have like nothing to do but just rent it out and start collecting money. This is one of my favorite side hustles and not a lot of people know about it, and take advantage of it!

Rent your car
